Tree Care

Trees need looking after - there is a balance between enough and too much water.

Sometimes a tree just gets grumpy and gives up. This is really unusual but if it does happen please give us a call.

Tree Care

When it has been delivered, take your tree out of its netting and put it outside in a bucket of water until you want to set it up indoors.

You could cut an inch from the tree’s base when you set it up, to allow the tree to take up water. This is the same principle as cutting the base from the stems of fresh flowers and will help the tree to last for longer. Our trees are freshly cut so this shoudn't be needed but maybe try it if it looks poorly.

Choose a water-holding Christmas tree stand such as the Cinco range that we sell and hire – these hold plenty of water.

  • Keep your Christmas tree well watered (but not too much), it may drink as much as 0.5-1 litre a day.
  • Place your Christmas tree away from radiators, spot lamps or any other sources of direct heat.
  • An unusual one: a thimble of bleach in the water (just one) sometimes keeps the bugs away.
  • Another unusual one: a dash of lemonade when your tree looks sad might perk it up!
